my future neighbors are doomed

Oh hello.....

Yes I have been away in wonderful summerland.  Where popsicles are required daily and shoes aren't necessary.  I thought I'd stop by the blog world to tell you a story...

As previously mentioned, our move from Kansas City was nothing short of complete chaos.  Our plan was pack up everything, move to Cape, drive back to K.C., clean up our townhome, check out and then head to Utah.  Now our townhome prior and during the move was quite messy.  I was determined to only clean the place one last time.  So what I'm saying is, it was disgusting.  So Monday we leave, blah blah blah, Tuesday we were heading back to K.C.  We arrived in K.C. around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night.  I asked Seth where the keys were to the house.  He replied, "probably in the mailbox".  And I knew.  I knew right then and there what had happened.  My sneak/superwoman of a neighbor Emily had done something.  Immediately I was mad at Seth.  "YOU KNOW BETTER!" I screamed.  After 2 years of being neighbors with Emily, he should have known better than to give her our keys.

I open the door and posted on our family room wall read, "I'll Get By With A Little Help From My Friends".
And all I thought was, Now I really can't leave...and then I wanted to cry (but I didn't...that came 2 days later...) My dearies Emily and Lisa had completely cleaned my kitchen, family room, vacuumed, cleaned windows....etc.  Like what the what.  I was so humbled by their love and friendship.  Never ever did I deserve such wonderfulness.  What a weight they had lifted.  I continued to scold Seth for leaving the keys and instilled in him never to make such a mistake again.

The next morning Emily came outside and I explained what kind of trouble she was in.  "Someone steal your dirt?" was her response.  Yes, yes...someone did steal my dirt, you little ninnymuggins.

To say I learned a lot while living next to such wonderful people, is a MAJOR understatement.  I was continuously humbled by the service, love, kindness, charity of my dear neighbors.  I will work hard to pay it forward and never let go of what was passed on to me.

I FREAKIN LOVE YOU KANSAS CITY PEOPLE!
even if you steal dirt!
