As long as I'm talking about shopping in Kansas City, I'll tell you about the other glorious places that give you the opportunity to spend money that you may or may not have.
First off-the Legends Outlet Mall. Love this place. It was nice to cross right over the border and hit up the outlets and great restaurants.
Next-Zona Rosa. This place is very similar to the Gateway in Utah..except I like Zona Rosa better. In fact, if it were cool to say you loved a shopping center, I'd have to say I love Zona Rosa. So many great stores mixed with some boutiques and then some great restaurants-including where I worked. There's even a Marshall's there...which saved me some big bucks. In the center of the Zona is a courtyard, where fountains entertain the kids during the day and on weekends, hosts free concerts.
Country Club Plaza....Very hoity-toity. I usually go straight to Anthropologie, dream and then leave. Houstons--one of my very favorite restaurants, is there. It's just a fun place to walk around, dream and admire all the Ferrari's, Mazeratti's and Aston Martin's.
I also had my pickings of about 3 or 4 Targets, all within about 15 minutes of my place. Talk about awesome. I strongly believe that as long as a city has a Target, you can survive. (Logan was the only place to prove this theory wrong, but it's Logan..) All Kansas City Targets were like hitting the jackpot...just awesome treasures and sales.
And finally...the TJ Maxx of Liberty. I don't think you (or maybe it's just me) can go in there and leave empty handed. I had always been frustrated by the craziness of TJ Maxx before I met the Liberty store. This store has all kinds of ways to spend your money. When sister came out to visit and asked where I got this or that...my answer was either Target or TJ Maxx. You just can't go wrong with either.
You're probably thinking, "weren't you a poor medical student's wife? how/why did you shop?"
A) Sales are a poor girl's best friend
B) Some good retail therapy can solve a lot of problems
C) I worked 3 jobs. The. End.
